Trail of Light

This photo was taken out the window of a tall building (hopsital for Des' latest stay). The weather was drizzling and not ideal conditions for a photo but I was taken by the snake formation of the car lights on the roadway. We are surrounded by trees throughout our city. It's like living in the country even though I live in the Capital of Australia.

Spirit House

Over Easter my daughter and I visited a most gorgeous part of Australia, Coolum Beach in Queensland to do a Spice Trails cooking class at a place called Spirit House (my daughter spoils me). It's a wonderland.

A chef called Kelly, who was Tom and Nicole's former chef, ran the class. He avoided my spicy questions about the stars. I don't cook anything but cakes and sweets so some of it was a challenge. I learnt to recognise the difference between a spring onion and garlic (I had this 'know it all' next to me who accused me of not knowing the difference, as if!!).

I learnt a lot and would love to go back again. Asian cooking is amazing and I love spices.

Autumn Leaves

Autumn is well and truly here with summer fast receeding. Autumn days can be beautiful with lots of sunshine and blue skies. Today, there were boats on the lake enjoying the last of the warmer weather. I live in the capital of Australia, Canberra, and it gets quite cold here in winter. I love having four seasons as many parts of Australia really only have what we know as Spring and Summer weather.

My favourite Autumn song is a Nat King Cole one called Autumn Leaves and sung by the late Eva Cassidy. Beautiful.

Peaceful Lake

I walked around the Lake in the middle of my city today. It's beautiful and there are always lots of joggers and walkers about. Normally there is a huge water fountain in the middle of the lake but today it was turned off. I added a photo of it taken in the winter (you can see how gloomy the weather looks). I feel most at peace around water. Good job I live on a huge island called Oz. Click on the image to see a larger version.
